Honor by a Jay Crownover Review

I have loved every book Jay has written, but was a little worried when the Point series came out. I was so worried, because it was so different from the Marked Men, that I waited until a month before this book came out to read Better When He's Bad. Once I read it, I wondered why I waited. This book did not disappoint. Key was such a strong character, with only one weakness, Nassir. Nassir never needed anyone, because he never had anyone, until he met Key.
This book was dark, with just enough light to have me hoping that Key and Nassir would find a way to make a relationship work. Nassir was raised to be a killer and led down that path from a young age, when he didn't even know why or what he was really doing. Key was a dancer when he first met her and all he wanted to do was protect her. She fled, he gave her time and then went after her. But would she come back to the Point, and more importantly, him?
Once she makes up her mind, he offers her part ownership of his new club. She accepts, but with one condition-she needs a place to live. He has never had anyone living with him but agrees. They agree that there will be no him touching her until she is ready to be 'owned' by him. It is a struggle for both of them. When and will they give in to their feelings. Nassir wants to, but only when she is ready to move forward. She wants to as well, but she doesn't want to lose herself if she does.
This book is so great. The characters are multilayered and the story is great. Jay never disappoints.

Surrender (NOW LIVE):

Surrender Review!
This is one of the best books I have read this year! Gareth has always been the brooding brother that we didn't know much about. In this book, you learn so much information that your heart actually aches at times. I honestly understood why he had the idiosyncrasies that he had.
Being the oldest child, he had to step up when his dad shut down. Grab the tissues because there are a few memories that had me in tears. When he realizes that Sloan is finally single and that she is breaking apart, he tries to find a way to help her.
Sloan is Gareth's stylist, but when she finds out the truth about her husband, she is broken. She and Gareth come to an agreement and for all intents and purposes it seems to work. Can they keep to the agreement or are they doomed from the start?
I liked the push and pull off both characters. I understood the motivation behind each character. Don't even get me started on the ending to this book. I absolutely can't wait for the final book, Dominate, to see how this wonderful series ends.

Dominate (RELEASING FRIDAY):
Audio: Coming Soon

Dominate Review!
Dominate picks up where Surrender left off. This book had all the emotions you could ask for: love, loss, hope, happiness, and closure. What exactly happened at the end of Surrender? Who and why did the event happen?
The Harris family is always there for each other, but how will the incident affect the rest of the family? How will it affect Sloan, Gareth, and their relationship? The scenes with Gareth and Vaughn were so touching and I was extremely overwhelmed with emotion when it came to their interactions in this book.
Sloan showed how much she has grown, even when she had to endure Callum and Callie. Gareth showed how much he cared about both Sloan and Sophia; unfortunately, while doing so he might just destroy everything.
As sad as I am to see this series come to an end, this was the perfect ending. Now, I can only hope Ms. Daws will write some novellas: holidays, weddings, Vaughn's happily ever after (hint hint).

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest, voluntary review.

Meet P. Dangelico:

P. Dangelico loves romance in all forms, cuddly creatures (four legged and two), really bloody sexy pulp, the NY Jets (although she’s reconsidering after this season), and to while away the day at the barn (apparently she does her best thinking shoveling horse crap). What she’s not enamored with is referring to herself in the third person and social media so don’t expect her to get on Twitter anytime soon. Oh, and although she was born in Italy, she’s been Jersey Strong since she turned six.

About Danielle

Before becoming a romance writer, Danielle was a body double for Heidi Klum and a backup singer for Adele. Now, she spends her days trying to play keep away from Theo James, who won't stop calling her or asking her out.
And all of this happens before she wakes up and faces reality where in fact she is a 50-something mom with grown kids. She's been married longer than Theo's been alive, and she now gets her kicks riding a Harley.
As far as her body, she can thank Ben & Jerry's for that, as well as gravity and vodka. But she says that she could never be Adele's backup since she never stops saying the F-word long enough to actually sing.
Danielle writes about kickass women with even better shoes and the men that try to tame them (silly, silly men).

Out of Control ~ Brooklyn Taylor

Release Date: August 1, 2018
Cover Design: Alora Kate

Synopsis

Have you ever sat and thought about how boring your life was? That was me, Chad Walker. I was sick and tired of coasting through my senior year so I decided to shake things up a bit. I invited a set of demons into my life, and without knowing it I was in buried up and to my eyeballs. I was unable to fight the temptation or the addiction and frankly, didn't want to. My body needed more and I wasn’t strong enough to fight it. I preferred feeling strung out over living day to day. I had lost all control.
Until I met Alexa. Her smile almost pulled at my heart just enough to help me through the battle of my life. Almost…
Except, she doesn’t buy the story I am selling. She had been through it all before with her father. Alexa knew my actions before I did, pushing me away just as I was reaching for her, just barely hanging on with my fingertips. She swore she would never get involved with a person addicted to the one thing she would spend her life loathing.
Can an addict like me stop for the possibility of love?
Can I stop because I am better than that? Can I stop because my life depends on it?
Better yet, do I want to?

Excerpt

“Chad?”  Melissa waited for his response.
“Everything is fine Mel. I am just wishing I could turn back time.”
“Not me… Tonight was perfect!” Melissa was giddy.
We pull up in the jeep to my apartment complex and Chad offers to take me up to my place. I hesitated but then saw the look on Melissa’s face demanding that I allow it.
“It’s a safety issue Alexa.” Melissa said.
Chad got out and walked around to let me out but I had already jumped out of the jeep. Melissa stepped out as well and hugged me whispering in my ear she would fill me in later before getting the passenger front seat.
I began to walk and felt Chad on my heels following me.
“This really isn't necessary Chad. I can handle walking to my door.”
“I want to make sure you are safe.”
“Ok, thanks.” I relented.
Once we got around the corner and Melissa couldn't see us any longer, Chad caught up with me.
He put his hand on my face like he was going to say something, anything, but instead just starred into my eyes.
He was sober, I could see the clarity in his eyes.
“I wish things were different.” He said.
“I do too.”
He ran his thumb along my cheek softly.“I had a good time tonight.”
“Me too.”
Chad kissed me on the nose and then pulled away.
I walk up the stairs and then turn the corner to see the last person on earth that I expected.
My father.
“You know I could never be like that?” Chad says. “I could never be an addict like him.” He swallowed hard as he said the words intending to say them but not come out the way they were. They were supposed to be convincing but they were anything but.
I put my key in the door and turn as I slowly start to open the door.
“You are already are.” I say quietly but loud enough for Chad to hear.
I look back at Chad and then back at my father and then Chad shakes his head confirming my thoughts before more are spoken.

Surrender Review

Review

Surrender yourself to an emotional ride. Gareth is the oldest if the Harris brothers and basically raised his younger siblings after their mother died. Because You're Mine

When you grow up in the most feared mafia family, it's easy to identify the kind of men that are bad news.

They're the ones with experience.
The ones with secrets.
The ones that exude sex just by saying your name.

From the minute I laid eyes on Lorenzo, I knew he wasn't just bad news.
He was the headline.

My opinion didn't change on our second meeting.

Or our third.

But my head and my heart are at war.

He’s too mysterious, too gorgeous, too wild, and now, he wants me.
I should run far away.
So why am I racing toward him?
I’m totally going to get burned.
I know it.
A man like Lorenzo won’t leave me unscathed.
He'll make ashes of me.
