Review
I really enjoyed this book. Brecken and January meet at her best friends bar and are both intrigued by the other. He doesn't understand why he can't keep his mind off of her, this has never happened before. She finds him attractive, but he is out of her league. Even though she comes from money, she has walked away and is a professional organizer. Not wanting to let her walk away, he hires her and makes sure that he is around her as often as possible.
Over the course of a few weeks, they both fall fast and hard. They spend every minute together that they can. Unfortunately, he has a past and his past (and present, she is his assistant) comes back to haunt them. When his assistant tells him that she is pregnant, he is thrown for a loop and pushes January away. She is heartbroken, but doesn't want to give up on him.
He has a reason that he is the way he is and he vows that he will not be like his father. But when his childhood situation appears to be happening to him he goes to the one person who is still alive that can give him answers. I really liked how they both fought for each other at different times in the book. I also enjoyed the snark and the tender moments between Brecken and January. A great book.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest, voluntary review.
