Hold Me Close Synopsis:
Taming a spirited, fun-loving O'Leary may be harder than he realized...
After more than a year in Ireland, Maggie O'Leary is finally coming back to Chicago with a plan for her future. Confronting the tragedy that destroyed her is her first step. But to do that, she needs to work in her family's bar--something her family doesn't want. Luckily, her best friend, Shane Callahan, is her biggest support--and lovable in a way she doesn’t remember.
Determined to protect Maggie, Shane refuses to leave the bar when she's working late. And when Maggie boldly tells him that she wants him to help her conquer her final fear—sex—Shane knows a single night together won't be possible. The idea of a spirited Maggie in his bed is everything, but will she believe he wants her heart too?
Review:
Shane and Maggie have been friends for a long time, and he has been in love with her for almost the entire time. When she was raped by an ex-boyfriend, she is devastated. She goes to Ireland to escape and 'hopefully' move on. The only person she lets know that she is coming back home is her best friend. Her family loves her and she loves them, but they can tend to be overbearing.
Once home, she only hangs out with Shane, but believes she is ready to move on and find a person to be with. Shane hopes it is him that she chooses, but understands that she doesn't want to do anything to jepordize their friendship. He keeps reassuring Maggie that the right guy will wait as long as it takes, be understanding, and love her through the good and the bad.
I fell so hard for Shane. He loved Maggie something fierce and always supported her. Wheather she realizes that Shane is the one for her or not will impact their friendship/relationship forever. I have loved this entire series and can't wait to read whatever Ms. Schroeder writes next.
