REVIEW:
Zach and Calli had me on the edge of my seat, waiting with little to no patience to see if they would be able to find their way back to each other. Each felt like the other ruined what they had in high school, but you don’t find out what exactly happened until later in the book. There were definitely times when I wanted to shake Zach and get him to communicate with Calli.
Calli had a childhood that was very lonely and felt betrayed by her dad and brother, who both deserved to be cut from her life, in my opinion. She had no one and she as shocked to find the love of her life, Zach, at the same college. Zach, just as shocked as Calli, has a hard time staying away from her, even though he insists to himself that he needs to.
With rules from the basketball team, family issues and so much angst and heartbreak to overcome, it isn’t clear if they can find their happiness. The reasons they broke are truly heartbreaking and when he almost loses her again, at no fault of his own, I wanted to scream. You need to read this book. You won’t be disappointed. I hope her best friend at college gets a book.
