Banks Carmichael has been the jokester of the family and he likes it that way. He doesn’t take things seriously and he always has one scheme or another up his sleeve. When he is called upon to help his sister-in-law’s best friend his life takes a turn no one saw coming. Sara’s life is in disarray, she never commits to a man because she doesn’t think she deserves to be loved. She is basically alone because her stepmother doesn’t like her and her father passed away. When she sees the Carmichael family she wants to be a part of it, but feels out of place.

The interactions between Banks and Sara start out tense but you can feel the underlying attraction from the start. I loved Banks. Once he sets his mind to something he doesn’t give up. He understands what is going on with Sara and wants to help her see she deserves so much more than she believes. Banks is actually a lot more than people see and I love the layers in his character.

Sara is strong, but underneath her exterior she wants love. She has just never experienced it. She needs Banks to help her “prove” to her ex that she has moved on. Her ex and her stepmother were pretty bad people and one has an affect on her relationship with Banks. Whether she can move past her background and take what is being offered to her remains to be seen.

I love the Carmichael family and Banks just might be my favorite brother. I can’t wait to see what happens with this wonderful family in the next book. I received an ARC and this is my honest, voluntary review.
