Fallen Woman release day

After waking up yesterday with chills and a 101.9 fever and then finding out that I have step throat, I am finally feeling better. So, even though it is a day late, here is my review of Fallen Woman.

This book gave me all the feels. At first glance, I thought I was going to be reading a book about a woman who sold her body so she could make extra money. Boy was I wrong. While yes, Gia did get paid as an escort, there were heartbreaking reasons as to why.

Gia is a broken woman. After her husband's secret life is revealed and subsequently dies, she is forced to move forward and support her three children. She has to leave her three children home alone just so she can apply for jobs. Unfortunately, she has no other options and she feels guilty doing it but she doesn't know what else to do. She finally gets a job and strikes up a friendship with Jase.  She doesn't want to let him in, but slowly she does.
While at work, her neighbor watches her children and she becomes a surrogate grandma. The old woman has a young grandson that she has custody of as well. In an attempt to help Gia, Jase suggests she accompany his friends and him to social functions and they will pay her. She gets offended, but ultimately realizes that he is trying to help and that sex isn't included in the dates.
Both Jase and Gia feel more for each other than they admit, but they are great friends. She calls him after each date so he knows she is safe.

Throughout the book, you feel their connection and you know there is something going on with the neighbor, but you hope they will find a way to be together. Jase never goes on a date with her, which is explained, and I really liked his reasoning. When they finally admit their feelings for each other, can they be happy?  Will he accept her children?  Can they even make things work when she finds out that he isn't just a coworker?  Pick up Fallen Wonab today and find out.
