As soon as he sees her again, as she is speeding through town, old feelings come up. He tries to deny them, because he is afraid of being hurt again. She doesn't understand his ire at first, but after a few days of being home, she realizes that she was in the wrong by leaving the way she did. Her sister is a piece of work, but she is hurt by the way Scarlett has acted over the last decade.
Chloe, Tucker's daughter, is oddly the voice of reason. Taking on the mother role opens Scarlett's eyes to a lot of things and their relationship is wonderful to see. Every emotion you can have, I experienced. Laughter, crying, anger, etc. This book has it all. And just when you think they have it all figured out, something happens that has the potential to ruin everything they have started building.
I highly recommend this book. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest, voluntary review.
