REVIEW:

Xander and Peyton were two people who had tragic pasts. He lost both parents at a young age and never learned how to move on. She, by all accounts, should be living the life of a typical high school senior, but her life has never been fair. When their paths cross one fateful night, their lives are changed forever. Even though they know it is wrong, they are drawn together.

I liked the fact that they had similar childhoods and were struggling to move on. While she felt like he saved her, he believed the same about her. Those roles fit for a time, but eventually he realized that might not be the case. They each ended up saving each other.

When they are forced apart, he ends things in the most hurtful way, but I understood why he did it the way he did. I was glad when he had the conversations with Jase and Cameron, especially since they happened before he knew the outcome of his declaration.

There could be a couple of triggers in this book, but it was such a well written story. My heart broke for both of them, but Ms. Cotton stitched it back together. I can’t wait for the next book to come out.

Their connection was great and the age difference didn’t bother me. I felt bad for Bryan and hope he gets his happy ending. The epilogue makes me want the next book now. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest, voluntary review.
