Posey Adler is coming home. After a devastating journey for what she mistakenly thought was true love, she is saying to hell with men and love forever. As the Nashville Assassins’s new assistant coach for special teams, Posey is ready to focus on her job and have the attention on her for a change. She’s been haunted by her place in her sister’s shadow, but this is her chance to shine and force her family to take notice. But in order to make a name for herself, she’s going to have to go toe-to-toe with her team’s leading power play scorer.

Boon Hoenes lives for special teams. The power play is his favorite thing about the game. He loves having that advantage over his opponent. And most of the time, it’s his quick thinking that sends the puck to the back of the goal when he’s on the ice. Off the ice, however, no amount of quick thinking prepared his heart for being dumped by his college sweetheart. Boon has sworn off women, but when Posey Adler comes onto his ice—and kicks him off his beloved power play—he decides she’s one woman he doesn’t want to swear off.

They’ve both been hurt, but instead of going in for the penalty kill, Boon is ready to convince Posey their hearts are the secret to how they’ll win.

How they’ll score the ultimate goal.

A forever kind of love.

REVIEW:

Boon and Posey are two of the most electrifying characters I have read in awhile.  Boon is a man who had his heart broken by his fiance when he found out that she had been cheating on him for months and she called him some nasty names.  He believes he is better off without a woman-even though deep down he has what a few of his closest friends have-a wife and kids.  When he meets Posey, she pushes all of his buttons and he strives to be a better hockey player for her, but he still can't figure out why he can't stop thinking about her all of the time.
Posey is a woman who is determined to focus on her career.  When she put her heart on the line the last time, it was stomped on and thrown away, she never wants to relive that pain and humiliation again.  Even when she knows that she needs to keep things professional with Boon, after all the last man was also a hockey player, she can't seem to stay away from Boon.  She tries to act as if she doesn't care about him, but she does.  She has a secret though and is afraid of how he will react if and when he finds out.
Boon was probably the sweetest man when he was with Posey, and that is saying something because I never thought Phillip or Shea could be topped or even come close to being topped.  He knew who he wanted and wouldn't give up, no matter how much she tried to push him away.  I understood where Posey was coming from and was glad when she finally told her mom and sister what it was like living in her sister's shadow (all the boys wanting to get close to her so they could have an in with her sister).  This book had me swooning and gasping.  I was so proud of Boon for not backing down or away when Shea was being irrational and the papa bear that I knew he would be.
This was an awesome addition and I can't wait to read the next addition to this series.  I received an ARC in exchange for an honest, voluntary review.

About the Author:

My name is Toni Aleo and I’m a total dork.
I am a wife, mother of two and a bulldog, and also a hopeless romantic.
I am the biggest Shea Weber fan ever, and can be found during hockey season with my nose pressed against the Bridgestone Arena’s glass, watching my Nashville Predators play!
When my nose isn’t pressed against the glass, I enjoy going to my husband and son’s hockey games, my daughter’s dance competition, hanging with my best friends, taking pictures, scrapbooking, and reading the latest romance novel.
I have a slight Disney and Harry Potter obsession, I love things that sparkle, I love the color pink, I might have been a Disney Princess in a past life… probably Belle.
… and did I mention I love hockey?
