Xander stole my heart. I was intrigued by him in the previous duet, but I fell for him in this book. He meets Imani in an unconvential way, but sparks fly and he doesn't want her to leave (but she does). When they meet up again, they are drawn to each other, but are unsure how to proceed. When he needs her help, she accepts. She knows that she is going to have to pretend to be his girlfriend for awhile, but once there, things progress faster and go to places they didn't foresee, but neither can regret.
The prologue was heartstopping and I can't wait to see what exactly happened to get them to that point, I just know I need to find out and soon. I am in awe of Ms. Malone's books and this book was no different. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest, voluntary review.
