“Are you a doctor?” she counters, but she lets me inspect her injury.
“I’m the doctor in the room,” I tease.
I ask where it hurts, and she points to her wrist, frowning. I run a thumb gently along that tender spot, that tantalizing place that can drive a woman wild.

Which it seems I am doing, since Scarlett’s breath hitches.
“Daniel,” she whispers, her voice perhaps betraying her. “I’m fine. I swear I’m fine.”

REVIEW:
Daniel and Scarlett have been business partners for years and have wanted to pursue things but felt it was best if they kept things business like. While looking for hotels to purchase someone suggests pretending to be married to see how the hotels really perform, instead of letting them know they are potential buyers. The only snag; everything feels too real.Daniel had a tragedy happen when he was in high school that he blames himself for. Because of that he feels like everything he loves disappears and chooses to not get serious with anyone. Scarlett had a marriage that broke her when the true details came out. She hasn’t been willing to open up her heart again. When they agree to be married for a week they both feel that it will be easy to walk away.
At the end of the week each character had a lot of growth and made some hard realizations about themselves and each other. Will either be willing to fight for the other or will they walk away? I really enjoyed this book. I felt bad for each character while wanting to shake some sense into them at other times. A well written book with great characters. I can’t wait to see what happens in future books. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest, voluntary review.
