Boone has always intrigued me and finally getting his story was not a disappointment. When he first meets Jaxi, it is pretty funny. She is in his house, after breaking in, but she doesn’t realize it. Their initial conversation is great and a friendship blooms.
He struggles with his place in his family and their expectations (which I love the conversation he has with his mom) and finds it refreshing that Jaxi is trusting him and believing in him, even though they just met. She is trying to start over after a bad few months. When she receives a phone call and her life is thrown for another loop, Boone steps up and proves he is as awesome as she thought.
The relationship they build is built fast, but it is believable. She has a hard time trusting in herself, him and their relationship, but he perseveres and falls for her hard. The added complication, that makes him act recklessly, turns out to be the best thing for all involved and his family shows how great they are.
I fell for Boone so hard and was happy to see him open his eyes to the mistake he was missing. I can’t wait to see what happens with the rest of this family. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest, voluntary review.
